THE RUN-D1?

A few years ago I was sorting through boxes in my parents’ attic, when I came across a stack of old cassette tapes. I could tell they were games from some kind of old-school console. Only, I didn’t have any memory of playing these games. In fact, I had no recollection of even seeing these tapes before.

It was as though they had arrived from another version of the past, lost and now found again.

I took them home, cleaned them up, and spent days searching for any information about the games, who made them, or the logo emblazoned on each which seemed to herald a console called the RUN-D1.

No details about the games or the console have ever been found.

Undeterred by the strangeness of this situation, I bought a USB-cassette device from eBay and — eventually — after hours of electrical maintenance, managed to download strings of the code from the tapes to my computer

Using a new process, which I will document later, I have translated those games to the modern web.

I hope you enjoy them as so many people in the past presumably once did.
